La CAF ayant lancé un appel à candidature pour palier le retrait de la Libye qui a annoncé son désistement à l’organisation de la CAN 2017, plusieurs postulants se sont fait connaître ces dernières 24 heures, rapporte la BBC. Hôte de la compétition à trois reprises, l’Ethiopie va annoncer sa candidature très rapidement, a fait savoir Junedin Basha, le président de la Fédération. Dans la foulée, le Kenya a également déclaré songer à se porter candidat, briguant une co-organisation avec la Tanzanie, l’Ouganda ou le Rwanda. Pour finir, le Ghana a fait savoir par la voix de son ministre des Sports qu’il va également déposer sa candidature. L’Algérie était jusqu’alors le seul candidat autodéclaré. Les postulants ont jusqu’au 30 septembre au plus tard pour faire parvenir leurs dossiers à la CAF.
