Nigeria's journey to the World Cup began in the qualifying stages, which took place between September 2023 and January 2024. The Falconets bypassed the first round and advanced automatically, with Mauritius withdrawing in the second round.
In the third round, Nigeria edged out Tanzania with a 3-2 aggregate win after Tanzania's dominant 12-0 victory over Djibouti in the previous round. The decisive fourth round saw the Falconets secure their spot in Colombia with a 2-0 aggregate victory over Burundi.
As the tournament begins, Nigeria's Falconets will look to build on their strong tradition in the competition, aiming for another deep run in pursuit of their first title.
