Super Eagles fans have received welcome news, as defender Olisa Ndah, who has been sidelined since September 2024, is on track to return from injury.
The 26-year-old centre-back sustained a tibia fracture while playing for Orlando Pirates in a league match against Polokwane City.
Before his injury, Ndah was a pivotal figure in the Buccaneers' lineup, starting in all nine of the club's matches across various competitions. He also wore the captain's armband in the absence of Innocent Maela and Tapelo Xoki.

Ndah's return from injury is not only a significant boost for the Super Eagles ahead of March's 2026 World Cup qualifiers but also a welcome development for Orlando Pirates. The club is competing on three fronts in 2025—the PSL, CAF Champions League, and the Nedbank Cup—making his comeback crucial for their ambitions.
Ndah cleared for field training as full recovery nears
Olisa Ndah is edging closer to a full recovery, bringing relief to both Super Eagles and Orlando Pirates fans.
The club recently confirmed his progress in a statement shared on their website, noting, “Ndah has been given the green light to start field-based training, which will also involve conditioning as he gets closer to full recovery.”
Ndah was included in the Super Eagles' squad for the 2025 qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda in September 2024.

He made a second-half appearance in Nigeria's 3-0 victory over Benin in Uyo, coming on as a substitute for Calvin Bassey. However, he remained on the bench as an unused substitute in the match against Rwanda.
