Sevilla head coach García Pimienta has expressed confidence in new signing Akor Adams, backing the Nigerian striker to make an impact at the club.
On January 28, Sevilla completed the signing of Adams from Montpellier for €5.5 million.
The 24-year-old became the latest addition to the Andalusian club, following in the footsteps of compatriots Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho. Adams joins Sevilla on a long-term deal that runs until 2029.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Getafe, the Spanish manager praised Adams' strong work ethic and eagerness to adapt, highlighting the forward's impressive performances in training despite his recent arrival.
Pimienta confident in Adams' adaptation and impact at Sevilla
Since joining Sevilla from Montpellier, Akor Adams has wasted no time integrating into the squad, earning praise from manager García Pimienta.
“He's just been training and has been called up for tomorrow. If he has to take part, he's in a condition to do well.
“He's had two good training sessions and has to get used to the language and the way of training and playing. It will be gradual but he's very eager, he's a great lad, and it's a great opportunity for him to be at Sevilla. He's going to give it his all because that's also his way of playing,” Pimienta said, as reported by the club’s official website.

He left the Ligue 1 side after a difficult stint, registering just three goals and three assists in 15 appearances this season. The former Flying Eagles forward last found the net on September 22, 2024, enduring an 11-game goal drought despite consistently featuring for Montpellier.
Adams previously enjoyed a prolific spell in Norway with Lillestrøm SK, netting 17 goals in 17 matches during the 2023 season—a standout performance that attracted interest from several European clubs.
