Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman finally returned to winning ways with Atalanta, as the Bergamo side defeated Bologna 2-0 at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday to end a three-match losing streak.
Mateo Retegui and Mario Pašalić were on target for La Dea as Gian Piero Gasperini's side secured their first win following consecutive defeats to Inter Milan, Fiorentina, and Lazio ahead of Sunday’s encounter.
The victory lifts Atalanta to third place in the Serie A standings with 61 points—10 adrift of league leaders Inter and four behind second-placed Napoli, who are set to play later on Sunday.

However, Lookman’s personal goal drought stretched to four matches, with his last strike coming in Atalanta’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Juventus on 9 March.
Lookman endures quiet afternoon despite Atalanta’s return to winning ways
Despite Atalanta’s much-needed 2-0 victory over Bologna, Ademola Lookman struggled to make an impact in Sunday’s clash at the Gewiss Stadium.
The Super Eagles forward endured a quiet evening, recording no shots—on or off target—and failing to complete any of his three dribble attempts. He had 34 touches and managed just 57% pass accuracy, completing 12 of 21 passes.
While he did win both his aerial duels, he came out on top in only two of seven ground duels and lost possession 18 times. Lookman’s last goal remains the strike against Juventus on 9 March, extending his drought to four matches.

Lookman remains a key figure for Atalanta this season, currently sitting fourth in the Serie A scoring charts with 13 goals and five assists from just 26 league appearances.
His impact has also been felt on the continental stage, where he has delivered five goals and two assists in seven UEFA Champions League outings, underlining his value to Gasperini’s side both domestically and in Europe.
