Lookman: 3-time Serie A willing to offer Azzurri star for African king

Three-time Serie A winners Napoli are reportedly keen on securing Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman and are considering a player swap to lower Atalanta’s €60 million valuation.

His stock significantly soared following his standout performance in the Europa League final, where his brilliant hat-trick led La Dea to a commanding 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, securing the club's first-ever European trophy.

The 27-year-old has recently been linked with moves to several top European clubs, including Premier League sides Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle United, as well as Serie A giants Juventus and French champions PSG, with Napoli being the latest club to express interest.

Napoli plan to lower Ademola Lookman's valuation

According to transfer expert Armando Areniello, Napoli are reportedly eager to secure Ademola Lookman and are considering offering Giacomo Raspadori as part of the deal to reduce Atalanta's asking price.

“There are three strikers who could change teams at the end of the season: Vlahovic, Lookman and Lucca. Two of these three names, Lucca and Lookman, are very popular with Napoli.

“In particular, for Lookman, Napoli could offer an interesting counterpart, namely Giacomo Raspadori, to lower Atalanta's valuation, which starts at 60 million euros,” he said in an interview with Sogno nel Cuore.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year is under contract with the Italian club until June 2026 and initially had a €50 million release clause. However, his impressive recent performances have reportedly driven that figure up to €60 million.

Lookman is currently joint-third in the Serie A goalscoring chart this season, with 13 goals and five assists from 22 league appearances. His influence also extends to the UEFA Champions League, where he has contributed five goals and two assists in seven matches.
