Juventus are stepping up efforts to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta after growing indications that Victor Osimhen is edging closer to a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are believed to have agreed personal terms with Osimhen’s camp and are preparing to trigger the €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract. His current loan spell at Galatasaray has only enhanced his stock, and United see him as the long-term solution to their attacking issues.
The 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year’s potential arrival at Old Trafford could also see Rasmus Hojlund go the other way, with a loan switch to Galatasaray on the table. The Dane, who has struggled to fully convince in the Premier League, would be part of the reshuffle.

Ademola Lookman ticks all the boxes unlike Victor Osimhen
The knock-on effect is that Juventus may lose out on both strikers they had identified as top targets. That scenario has pushed Lookman to the top of their shortlist. The Super Eagles winger has impressed in Serie A and remains a more feasible target, both financially and tactically for the Bianconeri.
Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been working behind the scenes for months and even met Atalanta director Tony D’Amico in January to discuss the possibility of a deal. Atalanta are reportedly seeking around €60 million, but Juventus consider Lookman a more strategic investment than Osimhen, whose wages would exceed their post-Growth Decree cap, or Hojlund, who isn’t a technical fit.

Lookman, 27, has been instrumental for Atalanta once again this season, registering 18 goals and seven assists across all competitions. He recently became the first player to post double-digit goal contributions in three consecutive Serie A campaigns.
Lille forward Jonathan David remains a secondary option. While his price tag is lower, the combined costs of agent fees and bonuses make the Canadian less attractive than Lookman, who is now Juventus' main offensive target for next season.
