Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade netted her first goal of 2025 as Atlético Madrid Femenino were held to a 1-1 draw against Levante Badalona in the Primera División Femenina on Saturday.

Ajibade, who was named in the starting lineup by head coach Víctor Martín Alba, put up a performance at the Estadi Municipal de Badalona.

Atlético struck early, with Ajibade converting a well-placed pass from Fiamma Benítez in the 16th minute. The 25-year-old Nigerian forward displayed excellent composure, slotting a right-footed shot into the bottom corner to give her team a 1-0 lead. It marked her sixth goal of the season and her first since winning the Player of the Month award in November 2024.

Despite controlling large spells of the first half, Atlético were pegged back shortly after the break. Irina Uribe leveled for Badalona in the 58th minute, finishing from close range after being set up by Macarena Portales.

Ajibade and her teammates pushed for a winner but were unable to breach the hosts’ defense.

A complete performance by Ajibade

Ajibade’s 90-minute display was impressive. She registered 55 touches, completed 80% of her passes (20 out of 25), and created one big chance.

Her direct approach saw her attempt 11 dribbles, completing six, while her defensive work included two tackles and one interception.

However, it wasn’t a flawless outing for the Nigerian star. She lost possession 18 times, missed one big chance, and struck the woodwork once. Ajibade’s all-round effort underlined her importance to Atlético, who remain in contention for a top-four finish.

The 2024 CAF Player of the year nominee has now scored six goals and provided two assists in 12 league appearances this season, averaging 79 minutes per game.
