It was a tough one for Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, who gave everything but couldn’t stop Fulham from losing 2-1 to Chelsea at Craven Cottage on Sunday in the Premier League.

Iwobi gave Fulham the lead in the 20th minute. He received a smart pass from Ryan Sessegnon and calmly slotted past Robert Sánchez for his ninth goal of the season.

The Super Eagles midfielder was lively throughout. He caused problems for Chelsea’s backline and linked up well with the other Fulham attackers.

At the other end, Bassey was solid. The Nigerian defender made several key blocks and challenges to keep Chelsea out for most of the game.

Unfortunately, that was not to be enough.

Fulham held their lead for a long time, and looked like they will get the win, but the visitors turned it around late with two goals.

Tyrique George equalised in the 84th minute, before Pedro Neto struck in stoppage time to snatch all three points for Chelsea and break Fulham hearts.
