Alex Iwobi is ready to swap pitch-perfect passes for pitch-perfect rhymes as he teases an unexpected collaboration with Nigeria and Fulham teammate Calvin Bassey.
The Super Eagles midfielder, currently thriving in the Premier League, has revealed that he’s working on his debut EP — and he may not be going it alone. He recently made waves in the music scene with the release of his single “What’s Love”, featuring Emmanuel SPKS and MBrown.
Before that, he teamed up with his childhood friend and former Arsenal teammate Chuba Akpom, along with former England youth international Medy Elito — known in music circles as Don E — to produce the socially conscious track “Don’t Shoot.”

Most recently, Iwobi dropped “Hop Out!”, a dynamic collaboration with Nigerian rap star Odumodublvck and British artist Ramz, further cementing his growing presence in the industry.

Speaking about his budding music venture and potential studio partners, Iwobi offered a light-hearted nod to Bassey’s interest in stepping up to the mic.
“I mean, not that I know of! Like, I've seen they can like sing along to other people's lyrics. Obviously, I'll probably say Calvin Bassey,” he said on the Capital Xtra show as shared by Music News.

“He said he wants someone to ghost write for him, so maybe me or the guy in green can help him!.”
A product of Hale Academy, Iwobi has been a standout performer for Marco Silva’s side this season, contributing nine goals and five assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
