Atalanta kick Lookman succession planning into gear amid PSG interest, target Euros winner

With Ademola Lookman now a target for French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Atalanta are reportedly seeking a suitable replacement.

Reports from Italy indicate that La Dea are considering Italian forward Federico Chiesa as a potential replacement for Lookman, should the Nigeria international's speculated move materialise.

The 26-year-old Lookman was heavily linked with a move to PSG on Saturday, following the severe ligament injury sustained by Gonçalo Ramos during PSG's 4-1 victory over Le Havre last weekend.

The 23-year-old Ramos is expected to be sidelined for at least three months, leaving PSG in a difficult position as they urgently search for a suitable replacement to bolster their attack.

Ademola Lookman ommitted from Atalanta's Serie A opener

The omission of Ademola Lookman from Atalanta's squad for their Serie A opener against Lecce has intensified speculation about his potential move to PSG.

With the forward’s absence from the squad, attention has turned to his future, as Les Parisiens reportedly explore options to reinforce their attacking lineup following the departure of Kylian Mbappe and Ramos' injury setback.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions have already reached out to Lookman’s representatives, who have subsequently informed Atalanta of PSG's interest. Atalanta have reportedly set a €60 million asking price for the former Everton man.

PSG's heightened interest in the Nigerian international could potentially derail the pursuit of his compatriot, Victor Osimhen.

Despite ongoing negotiations, PSG have struggled to meet Napoli's asking price for Osimhen, which has complicated their efforts to secure his transfer.
