Major breakthrough in Osimhen transfer saga as second suitor agrees personal terms

Chelsea have reportedly reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Napoli's star striker Victor Osimhen, per reports.

As the summer transfer window edges towards its Friday night deadline, the Blues are intensifying their efforts to secure a world-class forward.

The Stamford Bridge outfit have been actively searching for a top-tier striker, and while Brentford’s Ivan Toney has been linked to a Stamford Bridge move, Osimhen has emerged as their primary target.

Discussions between Chelsea, Napoli, and the player's representatives have been ongoing, with significant progress being made in recent days.

With personal terms largely agreed upon, Chelsea now face the daunting task of negotiating a transfer fee with Napoli, who are reluctant to sell their prized asset for anything less than market value.

Napoli, having set a €130 million release clause, remain firm in their valuation of the Nigeria international. Despite their willingness to sell, they have been reluctant to accept a knock-down price, and this has proven to be a snag in various negotiations.

Chelsea, the biggest spenders in Europe this summer, are eager to add a proven goal scorer to their ranks after struggling to find the net consistently in recent seasons.

Victor Osimhen, who has developed into one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, scored 15 goals in 25 Serie A appearances last season. His performances have caught the eye of several top clubs, including PSG. The Parisans have also reached a verbal agreement with the player but are preparing to make Napoli a take-it-or-leave-it offer worth between £42 – £50 million (€50 – €60 million).

With just days left in the transfer window, Chelsea will need to move quickly to finalize a deal with Napoli if they hope to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.
