Werder Bremen’s Justin Njinmah has revealed that he is aware of the Super Eagles' interest in him, but will not make any decisions until he receives an official invitation.
Now 23 years old, Njinmah was born in Hamburg and is of Nigerian descent. He began his football journey at Eimsbütteler TV and Holstein Kiel before securing a professional contract with Werder Bremen in January 2022. Shortly thereafter, he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund to gain further experience.
He has not yet represented Germany at any level but remains optimistic about earning a spot with Die Mannschaft in the near future.

“It was pretty clear to me that I had no chance (of making Germany's Euro 2024 squad). Nevertheless, I know that they have me on their radar.
“I haven't had a discussion with anyone from the German staff yet, but of course that's a big goal of mine that I hope I can achieve,” he told Kicker in a recent interview.
Justin Njinmah: Evaluating Super Eagles interest
With Germany currently overlooking the winger, Njinmah acknowledged that he is aware of Nigeria's efforts to have him switch allegiance and represent them at the international level.
In response, he was quick to state that it would not be a decision to be made hastily.
“I'm being watched there (Nigeria) too, but I can't make a decision until I get an invitation. Then I'd have to weigh things up really carefully,” he said.
Njinmah made significant impact in the 2023/24 season for Die Werderaner, contributing to eight goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances by scoring six times and providing two assists.
