New Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle believes his coaching journey has provided him with the experience and vision necessary to lead the Nigerian national team.
The former Mali coach took the reins as the new coach of the three-time African champions last week, following his resignation from Algerian club Mouloudia Oran.
Chelle's appointment has sparked considerable criticism among Nigerian football fans, many of whom question the 47-year-old's competence and technical expertise.

However, Chelle believes that with nearly a decade of coaching experience, he is well-prepared to lead the Super Eagles to new heights, emphasising a collaborative approach to growth and success.
Chelle's vision for growth and success with the Super Eagles
In an interview with RFI, Eric Chelle expressed confidence in his ability to lead Nigeria to success.
“Already, there are a lot of people who say that I don't have much experience. But ultimately, I do have experience. I ended my career in 2014 and I've been coaching since that year.
“I coached a team… from West Africa not long ago. I coached a team in Algeria, the Mouloudia Club d'Oran. So, I'm starting to get to know African football well.

“Today, I feel ready to lead this great team with great players. So, I'm part of the progression process; the players will help me progress and I will help them progress too. Because I have a vision of football that will really fit well with this team.”
Chelle's primary responsibility will be to guide the Super Eagles through the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with pivotal matches against Rwanda on March 17 and Zimbabwe on March 24.
Nigeria currently sit in fifth place in their six-team group, having secured only three points from their opening four matches.
