Nigeria forward Chidera Ejuke is making waves in Spain’s La Liga after emerging as the league’s top dribbler, surpassing some of the competition's biggest stars.
Having joined Sevilla FC as a free agent from Belgian side Royal Antwerp, Ejuke has wasted no time establishing himself as one of the most exciting players to watch.
Despite only logging 265 minutes of game time, Ejuke has already completed an astonishing 17 successful dribbles.

Chidera Ejuke Spain's dribble king
This puts him ahead of Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé (16 dribbles), Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal (16 dribbles), and Vinícius Júnior (13 dribbles), all of whom have played significantly more minutes than the Nigerian star.
To put this into perspective, Mbappé has clocked 439 minutes, Yamal 443 minutes, and Vinícius 487 minutes. Yet, none have surpassed Ejuke’s impressive dribble rate.
Ejuke’s achievement is not just about the numbers—it’s about the artistry on the pitch. His ability to glide past defenders, often leaving them flat-footed, has made him one of Sevilla’s most dangerous attacking threats.
Averaging a successful dribble every 15 minutes, the 26-year-old has become a crucial part of manager García Pimienta’s plans since his arrival.
Super Eagles return for Chidera Ejuke?
However, while Ejuke’s form in Spain has been dazzling, his national team career with the Super Eagles has stalled.

Since making his debut in 2020 during a friendly against Tunisia, Ejuke has earned just eight caps. His last appearance for Nigeria came in a 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau in 2022.
Despite his undeniable talent, he has found himself out of favour with the national team selectors, a situation that may change if he continues to shine in La Liga.
Ejuke’s next challenge will be away at Deportivo Alavés on Friday in La Liga as he seeks to continue his fine form for Sevilla.
