Chukwueze: Beleaguered Premier League club enter race for Super Eagles winger

Published on by

Struggling Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has in recent times been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Everton the latest club to show interest in the player.

Since his arrival from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 the Super Eagles winger has had a mixed spell with the Rossoneri, struggling to establish himself as a mainstay in the team.

Last season, under former manager Stefano Pioli, the 25-year-old made over 30 appearances, primarily coming off the bench as he played a supporting role to American forward Christian Pulisic.

Following a superb preseason ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, many believed that Chukwueze was poised to cement his place in the Milan setup under Paulo Fonseca.

However, he has struggled to displace Pulisic from the starting XI, preventing him from making the desired impact.

What is Milan's asking price for Chukwueze?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via TBR Football, the Rossoneri are open to selling him in the winter, and an offer of around £11 million could be enough to seal the deal.

The Toffees have experienced a challenging start to the 2024/25 season, having won just one of their first seven matches, suffering four defeats and recording two draws. With a total of five points, they currently sit uncomfortably in 16th place on the league table.

Sean Dyche is focused on enhancing the depth of his attacking options and has identified the Nigerian winger as a player who fits well into his system.

Chukwueze has made eight appearances for Milan across all competitions, starting in two of those matches. He is averaging 26 minutes of play per game but has yet to score or register an assist.

Everton expressed interest in signing him back in 2022, prior to his move to Milan. Although a transfer did not materialise at that time, the club have rekindled their interest and may soon pursue a deal for his services.

The Nigeria international, whose contract with Milan runs until the summer of 2028, has also been linked with clubs such as Atlético Madrid, West Ham, and Aston Villa.
