Chukwueze: Nigeria forward responds to jaw-dropping offers from Saudi

Reports from Italian media indicate that AC Milan forward Samuel Chukwueze has rejected lucrative offers from unnamed Saudi Arabian clubs for a potential transfer in the upcoming window, opting to stay at AC Milan to prove his worth.

Since his arrival from Villarreal in the summer of 2023, the Super Eagles winger has experienced a mixed tenure with the Rossoneri, struggling to secure a regular place in the team, which has fueled speculation about a potential exit in January.

The 25-year-old, whose contract with Milan runs until the summer of 2028, has also been linked with clubs such as Atlético Madrid, West Ham, and Aston Villa, with Everton being mentioned just last week.

According to Italian journalist Daniel Longo via Calciomercato, the Nigeria international rejected similar approaches from two Saudi clubs to join Milan in the summer of 2023.

Longo further states that Chukwueze was offered over €10 million per season by these clubs, but he made it clear to his representatives that he only wanted to play for the Rossoneri.

How has Chukwueze fared with Milan this season?

Last season, under former manager Stefano Pioli, the 25-year-old made over 30 appearances, primarily coming off the bench as he played a supporting role to American forward Christian Pulisic.

Following a superb preseason ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, many believed that Chukwueze was poised to cement his place in the Milan setup under Paulo Fonseca but that has not been rosy as he still has Pulisic to contend with.

He has made nine appearances across all competitions for Milan, starting in three of those matches, and has averaged 33 minutes of play per game.

So far, he has scored one goal.
