Samuel Chukwueze’s time at AC Milan could be coming to an early end, with growing speculation that the Nigerian winger might be on his way out in the January transfer window.
After arriving at San Siro in the summer of 2023, Chukwueze was expected to make a significant impact. However, his performances have fallen short of expectations, and his struggles to break into the starting XI have fueled rumors of a possible departure.
Despite showing glimpses of his talent during a promising preseason ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, Chukwueze has failed to secure a consistent role under manager Paulo Fonseca. As the season progresses, he finds himself playing a second-fiddle role to Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, both of whom have been preferred in the attacking setup.
With limited minutes on the pitch and six league appearances this season, speculation is growing about a potential January move.
Chukwueze’s future at Milan uncertain

According to Corriere dello Sport, clubs such as Atlético Madrid, West Ham, and Aston Villa are closely monitoring his situation. There’s also speculation of a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, as per Calciomercato.
The 25-year-old, who signed a long-term deal with Milan until 2028, arrived from Villarreal for €20 million. However, injuries and inconsistent form have hindered his progress, with Chukwueze recording just three goals and three assists in 40 appearances.
Despite making six league appearances this season, Chukwueze has started only two games and averaged just 31 minutes per match. With Milan reportedly willing to accept an offer in the region of €18-20 million, the upcoming months could prove decisive in determining his future at San Siro. If Chukwueze fails to secure a regular spot, a mid-season departure appears increasingly likely as interest from Europe’s top leagues intensifies.
