Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has expressed confidence in Chidera Ejuke’s ability to bounce back from his injury setback and become a pivotal player for the team.
The Super Eagles winger made his highly anticipated return in Sevilla’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Girona on Saturday, coming on as a substitute for Isaac Romero in the 82nd minute, following a three-month absence due to a knee injury.

Despite the challenges posed by his recent absence from the pitch, Pimienta is optimistic about Ejuke's return to peak performance, emphasising the Super Eagles star's importance to Sevilla's future success.
Pimienta highlights Ejuke’s recovery and key role ahead
In the aftermath of the Andulsian club's victory over Girona, manager Garcia Pimienta shared his thoughts on Ejuke’s return to action.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Spanish trainer stressed the importance of gradually reintegrating the Nigeria international into the squad after his lengthy injury layoff.
“We knew it was going to be difficult for him because he had been injured for a long time and it was a very demanding game. We wanted to give him minutes to get into a rhythm because he has to be important. He has to do more things, but it's normal. He has to get back to match fitness and he will be a very important player for us,” Pimienta said.

Ejuke suffered a hamstring injury on October 20, 2024, during a league clash with Barcelona at the Olympic Stadium. While sidelined, he was absent for 12 games, comprising nine league matches and three Copa del Rey fixtures.
Prior to his injury, Ejuke had established himself as one of Sevilla’s standout performers, making nine appearances across all competitions and contributing with one goal.
