Galatasaray are reportedly in the final stages of negotiations with Napoli to secure Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The move comes after a turbulent summer transfer window, during which Osimhen was heavily linked with a departure from Napoli, but ultimately, no deal materialized.
The Turkish giants have agreed to cover Osimhen’s full salary until June 2025, and both clubs are reportedly finalizing the details of the dry loan arrangement, which will not include an option to buy.

Osimhen has already given the green light for the move, and the deal is now pending medical examinations and the official signing of the contract.
According to transfer expert Gianluca DiMarzio, Galatasaray are planning to switch to a 3-5-2 formation to accommodate the striking duo of Osimhen and Mauro Icardi, who is expected to return from injury in about a month.
Why Victor Osimhen is choosing Galatasaray
With the Italian transfer window now closed, Napoli have excluded Victor Osimhen from their Serie A squad list, pushing the Super Eagles forward to seek opportunities elsewhere.
The loan to Galatasaray presents an opportunity for Osimhen to gain regular playing time, which has become crucial, especially with potential January moves to Premier League clubs still on the horizon.
Napoli manager Antonio Conte expressed his sympathy for the plight of the Super Eagles star, who endured a frustrating summer, and on whose departure the club's transfer aspirations hinged.
“Some issues blocked it; perhaps if we had unlocked that [Osimhen] situation, we would have completed the team differently and earlier,” Conte said.
“I’m sorry about what happened. I’m sorry for Osimhen. I’m sorry for the club that didn’t monetize. I am sorry for myself because we didn’t complete the team as we wanted, but the club proved to be consistent in this situation. Coherence is the starting point when it comes to respecting the rules.”
