Gabriel Osho received his first call up to the Nigeria national team for their March friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

Alongside Luton Town teammate Elijah Adebayo, the 25-year-old had previously expressed his desire to represent the Super Eagles in February 2024.

In this article, we'll provide all the information you need to know about the new Super Eagles defender.

Gabriel Osho was born in the UK

Gabriel Jeremiah Adebayo Osho was born in Reading, England on August 14 1998. Not much is known about his parents except that they are of Nigerian descent.

Osho attended Leighton Park School in Reading as well as The Forest School in Winnerish, a suburban village in Berkshire, England.

Gabriel Osho's club career

Gabriel Osho kicked off his football career when he was eight years old, joining Reading's academy in 2006.

Due to his solid performances, Osho speedily rose through the ranks, eventually signing his first professional contract in 2016.

It's important to note that Gabriel Osho was a vital part of Reading's U-18 team that reached the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup in the 2015/16 season. In an earlier round, he scored a stoppage-time equaliser that helped send the team to the last eight.

In 2018, Osho was loaned out to Maidenhead United and Aldershot Town for a couple of months. He had three appearances for Maidenhead and eight for Aldershot before returning to Reading.

The Nigerian player's Reading debut eventually came when he was 20 years old, as Reading lost to Middlesbrough by a lone goal on December 22, 2018. In spite of that loss, Gabriel Osho was named man of the match.

Although Gabriel Osho spent 14 total years with Reading since his academy days, he only made seven appearances for the Royals across all competitions.

When his contract expired after the 2019/20 season, he declined a contract renewal offer, eventually signing with Luton Town.

Luton Town

It was at Luton Town that Gabriel Osho cemented his place as one of the best defenders in the English Championship, as he helped the team achieve promotion to the Premier League for the first time in history.

As a matter of fact, Osho was on the scoresheet in the second leg of the Championship playoff semi-final, after Luton Town had lost the first leg by a 2-1 scoreline.

The 25-year-old made his Premier League debut in October 2023, as Luton Town suffered a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa. He scored his first ever Premier League goal against Arsenal, as the Hatters lost in a seven-goal thriller, 4-3.

It's also worth mentioning that before he established himself at Luton Town, Osho was loaned out to Yeovil Town and Rochdale.

Gabriel Osho almost represented Nigeria at U-17 World Cup

Gabriel Osho is eligible to represent England's Three Lions by birth, as well as the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

We would like to point out that he was a part of Nigeria's Golden Eaglets training camp ahead of the 2015 U-17 World Cup.

This was a talented squad that included current Super Eagles players Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Nwakali.

Unfortunately, while the Golden Eaglets went on to win the U-17 World Cup in 2015, Gabriel Osho did not make the final squad for the tournament.

Gabriel Osho's salary and net worth

According to Salary Sport, Gabriel Osho earns £23,000 a week, which amounts to £1,196,000 a year. His contract expires at the end of this season.

This is a huge improvement from last season, as the Nigerian player was earning £3,200 a week when Luton played in the second tier of English football.

As it stands, Gabriel Osho's net worth is estimated at £1,746,680.
