Galatasaray plot another Super Eagles swoop ahead of Turkish deadline

Galatasaray are closing in on another significant addition to their squad, as they aim to bring in Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika from Club Brugge.

Onyedika was a key figure in Club Brugge’s success last season, playing a pivotal role in their Jupiler Pro League playoff campaign. He contributed three goals in nine games during the crucial stages, helping his side clinch the Belgian title.

According to reports, Galatasaray have already agreed personal terms with the Nigeria international, offering a five-year contract.

However, a deal between the two clubs has not yet been finalized, as Club Brugge rejected Galatasaray’s initial offer for the 23-year-old. It is understood that Onyedika is eager to make the move to Turkey, however, and is actively pushing for an agreement between the parties before the transfer window closes on Thursday, September 11.

The move would see Raphael Onyedika join up with his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, who recently arrived on loan from Napoli.

Despite being linked with clubs such as Crystal Palace and Barcelona over the summer, Raphael Onyedika has yet to secure a move away from Belgium.

While Club Brugge have reportedly considered him surplus to requirements, the Super Eagles midfielder has remained a regular in the team, starting every game he’s been available for this season in the Jupiler Pro League.

Onyedika was also in action for Nigeria during their recent goalless draw with Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, coming on as a substitute for Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. As the transfer window nears its end, both player and club await a resolution.
