Granada’s Edna Imade and UD Tenerife’s Gift Monday were on the scoresheet as the two Nigerian forwards showcased their class in a Liga F encounter that ended 2-1 in favor of Granada.

The victory pushed Granada further up the table while Tenerife, with Super Falcons duo Gift Monday and Rinsola Babajide, endured a tough night despite a spirited late effort.

This clash highlighted the growing impact of Nigerian stars in European women’s football. For Edna Imade, her decisive performance was another reminder of her lethal form this season, while Gift Monday continued her goal-scoring streak for Tenerife. Babajide, however, had a quieter outing and was substituted in the second half.

Imade's brilliance continues

The Super Falcons hopeful opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a sublime long-range strike into the top corner, assisted by Ariadna Mingueza.

Her attacking threat was relentless as she registered two shots on target, hit the woodwork once, and missed one big chance. Imade also completed two successful dribbles out of four attempts and won six out of nine aerial duels, emphasizing her dominance in attacking areas.

With her latest performance, Imade has now scored in six consecutive matches, including strikes against top sides like Real Madrid and Levante. She also remains the highest-scoring Nigerian in European women’s football this season.

Monday, on the other hand, fought hard for Tenerife. Her 90th-minute strike, a powerful right-footed effort from outside the box, was a late lifeline for her team, but it proved to be a mere consolation. The Nigerian forward now has seven goals in 13 league appearances, solidifying her importance to Tenerife's attack.

Despite her goal, the 24-year-old’s overall contribution was limited as she managed just one shot on target, missed one big chance, and lost possession 12 times.

Rinsola Babajide started for Tenerife but had a subdued performance before being substituted in the 59th minute. The winger attempted one shot on target and completed 83% of her passes, including one accurate cross. She engaged in seven duels, winning two, and struggled to make a significant impact offensively or defensively.
