After weeks of speculation, Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s future is finally settled as he appears to have found a new home.

Spanish side Sevilla are close to finalizing the signing of the Super Eagles forward, who will join as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City.

The former Europa League winners have made significant progress in securing a replacement for Youssef En-Nesyri, and Iheanacho has been chosen to be the main striker for García Pimienta's Sevilla squad.

Sevilla like Kelechi Iheanacho's profile

Kelechi Iheanacho, who started his professional career at Manchester City, will arrive on a free transfer after spending seven seasons at Leicester.

He moved to Leicester in 2017 following a €27 million transfer from Manchester City. Now, at 27 years old, Iheanacho will venture outside the Premier League for the first time since turning professional and will relish a new challenge in La Liga with Sevilla.

Last season, Iheanacho scored six goals in 26 matches for Leicester City, helping them gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, he also contributed three assists, showcasing his other qualities which Sevilla said is part of why they decided to sign him.

Iheanacho is expected to travel to Sevilla next week for medical examinations and his official unveiling.

The former FIFA U-17 world champion wwill link up with Super Eagles teammate Chidera Ejuke, who joined the Spanish side this summer from Antwerp.
