Boniface: Leverkusen’s asking price for Super Eagles forward

Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly looking to cash in on Victor Boniface, with the club setting a substantial asking price for the Super Eagles forward amid growing interest from potential suitors.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from top European clubs, as well as some teams in the Saudi Pro League, and Leverkusen are reportedly ready to part ways if their demands are met.

The Nigeria international is believed to be viewed as a potential alternative to Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, who is a target for Al-Hilal.

Premier League giants, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the clubs reportedly interested in the forward, while Arsenal are also evaluating striker options ahead of the January transfer deadline.

What is Leverkusen's asking price for Boniface?

Sky Germany reported on Thursday that while the German champions are hesitant to part ways with Victor Boniface, they do not consider him “unsellable.” The club is said to value the forward at over €50 million (£42.2 million).

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for a fee reportedly close to €22 million, Boniface has scored 29 goals and provided 11 assists in 49 appearances.

His remarkable debut season earned him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award for 2023/24 and a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season, with his contributions proving instrumental in Leverkusen's historic achievement of securing their first-ever Bundesliga title.

Boniface recently rejoined his Bayer Leverkusen teammates after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during international duty with Nigeria. He has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for Die Werkself this season.

While he has not featured in the Bundesliga since November due to the injury, he returned to the squad for Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
