Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has offered an update on Ademola Lookman’s fitness, confirming that the Super Eagles forward is nursing a bruise sustained during their clash against Napoli on January 18.
However, Lookman aggravated the injury during training on January 28, ruling him out of Atalanta’s UEFA Champions League clash with Barcelona, and has yet to make a return for La Dea.
Following Atalanta's emphatic win over Hellas Verona, the Italian manager admitted that Lookman’s availability for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash against Club Brugge remains uncertain.

Gasperini uncertain about Lookman’s availability for Club Brugge clash
Speaking to the press, Gasperini expressed uncertainty over Ademola Lookman's availability for their UEFA Champions League clash against Club Brugge.
“Lookman had a rather annoying bruise that he's been carrying over from Naples. We'll see in the next few days if he'll be available for Wednesday,” he said as reported by Tutto Atalanta.
The 27-year-old has cemented his place as a key figure in Atalanta’s squad, further enhancing his reputation with a stunning hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, which secured the club’s first-ever European title.
Lookman, who has resumed individual training as he works towards full recovery, has been in exceptional form this season. The former RB Leipzig forward has impressed, netting 14 goals and registering six assists in 26 appearances for the Bergamo outfit.

His injury return could also have significant implications for the Super Eagles as they continue their quest for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The three-time African champions are set to face Rwanda on March 21 and Zimbabwe on March 25.
