Super Eagles star, Ademola Lookman has expressed his joy after making a triumphant return to club football during Atalanta's 3-2 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.
Making his first league appearance of the season, Lookman played a decisive role in Atalanta’s win. He registered an assist and netted the winning goal, capping off a man-of-the-match performance.
His individual stats were impressive, with two shots on target, five successful dribbles, and a 90% pass accuracy.
Speaking to Dazn after the match, the Super Eagles winger highlighted his satisfaction with his performance and his team’s collective effort.
“I'm very happy to be back playing in front of our fans and to do it together with my teammates,” Lookman said.
“I really enjoyed myself today, and I'm proud to be part of such a strong team. We worked really well during the summer, and today we showed our value. I'm happy to be back in shape, and I can't wait to continue on this path.”

Despite a summer filled with speculation linking him to a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Lookman remained at Atalanta. After missing the opening fixtures, he rejoined the squad before the international break but did not feature until this Fiorentina clash.
His strong return to form couldn’t have come at a better time, with Atalanta preparing to face Arsenal in the Champions League.
“Arsenal are a very strong team, and I know what to expect from them. Playing against a team of that level is always a difficult challenge, but we are ready Lookman added. “We earned this place in the Champions League, and we want to show that we deserve to be here.
“The Gewiss Stadium will be full, and it will be a special environment for a European night like Thursday. We are charged and ready to face the match with the right spirit.”
