Despite Juventus being slight favorites, Atalanta took full control of the game, scoring four unanswered goals in a ruthless display.

Lookman was instrumental in their attacking prowess and capped off his performance with a well-taken fourth goal, earning widespread praise.

A key moment in the match that fuelled discussions on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) came in the 29th minute, when Atalanta were awarded a penalty.

Fans eagerly waited to see who would step up, given the controversy surrounding Lookman’s decision to take a penalty in the Champions League against Club Brugge.

This time, designated taker Mateo Retegui took responsibility and converted from the spot, reigniting debates about the previous situation.

Some fans speculated that Lookman was still unsettled by the past penalty drama, leading to claims that he played selfishly against Juventus instead of assisting Retegui occasionally.

Despite the discussions, Lookman silenced critics with his 13th Serie A goal of the season, surpassing his tally from the 2023/24 campaign.

His all-round display drew admiration, with many suggesting he fully deserved his goal for his relentless effort throughout the game.

With his consistently impressive performances, Lookman has been hailed as the best African forward in Europe outside of Mohamed Salah, further solidifying his status as one of Atalanta’s most influential players this season.

One user even tweeted that “Lookman doesn’t need a penalty to prove he’s the best”, referencing the penalty debate with Retegui and coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Lookman also got praise for his all round display stating that the party (goals) won't be complete without a Lookman goal.
