Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman came out on top in a Nigerian showdown at the San Siro as his Atalanta side secured a 1-0 win over Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan in Serie A on Sunday night.

Lookman started the match for Atalanta and was lively in the first half, getting a shot on target but failing to convert. Chukwueze, on the other hand, began on the bench.

Both sides had decent spells of possession in the opening half and created chances, but neither could break the deadlock.

The decisive moment came in the 62nd minute when Ederson slotted home from a Raoul Bellanova cut-back to give Atalanta the lead.

Desperate to respond, Milan threw everything forward, including bringing on Chukwueze in place of Fikayo Tomori.

Despite the late pressure, the Rossoneri couldn’t find an equaliser and dropped more points at home.

He also created one big chance during the game.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year was heavily involved in Atalanta's play, amassing 56 touches on the ball and delivering three key passes.

While his sole dribbling attempt didn't come off, Lookman's passing accuracy was impressive, completing 27 of his 30 attempted passes, resulting in a commendable 90 percent success rate.

In the physical battles, Lookman won two of the six ground duels he contested and was dominant in the air, winning both of his aerial duels.
