Nice forward Terem Moffi is edging closer to a return to action, providing a timely boost for the Super Eagles ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined since July 2024 due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which has kept him out of Les Aiglons' last 29 matches across all competitions.
The Super Eagles forward, who has netted 20 goals in 52 appearances for the French side, is set to return to full training shortly, with his comeback potentially coinciding with the upcoming international break.

Moffi's return: Key timelines and potential comeback
According to reports in France, Terem Moffi is set to make his long-awaited return to action after a lengthy injury layoff.
He is expected to resume collective training with OGC Nice in mid-February. This paves the way for a potential return to official competition ahead of the international break in March.
Moffi’s comeback could coincide with Super Eagles' crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda on March 17 and Zimbabwe on March 24, under the new management of Eric Chelle.
The three-time African champions are currently in fifth place in their six-team group, having earned just three points from their opening four matches, which also feature Benin, South Africa, and Lesotho.
The injury has kept Moffi, a regular fixture in the Super Eagles squad, out of the last six matches. Notably, he also missed the entirety of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Since his Super Eagles debut in a 1–0 defeat to Cameroon on June 4, 2021, under Gernot Rohr, Moffi has earned 18 caps and scored four goals for Nigeria.
