Moses Simon's early life and club career
Born in Jos and raised in Kaduna, Simon comes from a military family. His football journey began early and took shape at Golden Boot Soccer Academy (GBS) — the same academy that produced stars like Ahmed Musa, Kingsley Madu, and Samuel Kalu.
His talent took him to Ajax in 2013, but a contract didn’t materialise. That setback didn’t slow him down.
Instead, he joined Slovakian club AS Trenčín on a three-year deal. There, he announced himself with 13 goals in 33 appearances.
In 2014, he made the move to Belgian side KAA Gent. Over three seasons, he played 76 matches and scored 21 goals, helping Gent win the league title and featuring in European competitions.
In 2018, Simon moved to Spain to join Levante in La Liga. However, his time there didn’t go as planned — he scored just once in 19 appearances.
In 2019, he switched to FC Nantes in France, first on loan. After impressing in Ligue 1, the deal was made permanent in 2020.
