Moses Simon: Premier League side won’t let influential winger go to Champions League-bound Marseille without a fight

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon is reportedly attracting interest from the Premier League, with Everton said to be monitoring the Nantes forward ahead of a possible summer move.

Reports in England suggest the Toffees are considering a bid for the 29-year-old, whose current contract with Nantes runs until 2026.

Simon had previously extended his deal after a strong 2022/23 season, despite interest from several European clubs.

This season, he has once again been Nantes' standout performer. With seven goals and nine assists in Ligue 1, Simon has been central to the club’s battle against relegation.

Nantes currently sits 14th on the table with 31 points from 31 matches—just above the drop zone. His consistency has caught the attention of Olympique Marseille, who have maintained interest for several months.

Now, Everton have reportedly joined the race for his signature.

Is Premier League move the right one for Moses Simon?

Simon’s speed, power, and direct approach could suit a Premier League side in need of creativity and goals.

Everton, who have scored just 34 goals this season, have one of the lowest tallies among teams outside the relegation zone. His ability to beat defenders and create chances would be a welcome addition.

At 29, a move to England could represent a final big opportunity—both in sporting and financial terms.

Having played in Slovakia, Belgium, Spain, and France, England remains one of the few major European leagues the Nigeria international has yet to feature in.

However, the pull of European football may influence his decision. Marseille, likely to secure continental qualification, could offer a more competitive platform.

Simon is reportedly valued at €12 million, a figure that fits Everton’s transfer profile. Nantes, however, may hold out for closer to €15 million if multiple clubs enter the fray for his signature.
