There’s a new twist in the ongoing saga of Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel’s contract situation at Fenerbahçe, with reports emerging from Turkey suggesting that the 27-year-old will not be registered to play for the club in the second half of the Super Lig season.

Osayi-Samuel’s current contract with the Turkish giants expires in June, and despite months of negotiations, no agreement has been reached regarding an extension.

The Nigerian right-back has reportedly not been satisfied with the terms Fenerbahçe have offered, leading to a growing sense of uncertainty over his future at the club.

Fenerbahçe has been active in the winter transfer window, making several high-profile signings to strengthen their squad.

Players like Milan Skriniar, Diego Carlos, and Anderson Talisca have already joined the team, and the club is also reportedly in talks to acquire 20-year-old right-back Ognjen Mimovic from Red Star Belgrade.

It seems that the club is now planning for life without Osayi-Samuel, with news outlets indicating that he will not be included in the squad list submitted to the Turkish Football Federation for the second half of the season.

The defender, who has made 24 appearances and contributed one assist this season, has become the subject of growing interest from Premier League clubs, notably Crystal Palace and West Ham United.

With his contract set to expire in just a few months, Osayi-Samuel's time at Fenerbahçe appears to be coming to an end.

He has played 163 times for the club, scoring seven goals and dropping 14 assists.
