Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi put in a solid shift, but his efforts were in vain as Leicester City’s freefall continued with a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
The Foxes, who are second from bottom with just 17 points, desperately needed a positive result, but United’s clinical finishing proved too much to handle.
Goals from Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes condemned Leicester to another frustrating loss, further deepening their relegation worries. Despite the scoreline, Ndidi was one of the few bright spots, showcasing his midfield presence over the course of 90 minutes.

The former Genk star saw 56 touches and completed 28 of his 35 passes (80%), providing stability in the middle of the park.
He created one big chance, threading an excellent pass to Jamie Vardy in the 4th minute, but the Leicester captain's shot was saved. He also registered one key pass but lacked enough support from his teammates.
Defensively, the Nigerian international worked tirelessly, winning 2 of 4 ground duels and 2 of 8 aerial duels. He recorded two clearances, committed two fouls, and was fouled once. In the 77th minute, his frustration boiled over when he was booked for a foul on Matthijs de Ligt.
Ndidi shifts focus to Nigeria’s World Cup quest

With Leicester’s Premier League struggles showing no sign of improvement, Ndidi will now turn his attention to Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Eric Chelle-led side are winless in four straight games, with draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe under Jose Peseiro, followed by a loss to Benin and a draw with South Africa under Finidi George.
Nigeria faces Rwanda in Kigali on March 21 and Zimbabwe at home on March 25. With their World Cup dreams hanging in the balance, Ndidi’s leadership and midfield control could prove crucial in securing maximum points.
