Leicester City announced on Friday that Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi has extended his stay with the club.
The 27-year-old joined the English club in 2017 from KRC Genk and had his seven-year stay with the Foxes run out last month.
Speculations were rife in the media that Ndidi would exit the club and seek pastures new elsewhere, with links to Galatasaray, Barcelona, Olympique Marseille and Everton. Ndidi was one of the Foxes’ main driving forces as they secured promotion to the Premier League.
He contributed to 12 goals—scoring six times with six assists in 35 appearances as the Foxes returned to the English top flight.
According to Leicester, Ndidi, per his new contract, will stay at the King Power Stadium until at least June 2027, subject to Premier League approval.
Ndidi's joyful commitment to Leicester City
Ndidi expressed his joy and commitment to Leicester City following the extension of his contract.
“I feel great, I feel excited, I feel at home. That’s the most important thing. I feel really happy to continue with the Club. My family is settled here and everyone back home, when they say Ndidi, they say Leicester also! It’s really amazing to be a part of this journey going forward,” Ndidi told the club's official website after securing his future.
Since his arrival in 2017, Ndidi has made 273 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.

He has won the Emirates FA Cup, FA Community Shield, and most recently, the Championship title with the club.
