Nigeria striker assists as Rangers claim away win in Scotland

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers played a crucial role in Rangers' 1-0 win against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward provided the assist for Tom Lawrence’s 7th-minute goal, which proved to be the only goal of the game, securing three vital points for Rangers.

From the start, Dessers was a constant threat, causing problems for the Dundee United defence with his movement and physicality.

His hold-up play and attacking presence gave Rangers an edge in the early stages, with his smart assist for Lawrence setting the tone for a hard-fought match.

Dessers and Rangers had chances to add to their tally but they failed take them with the Nigerian knowing he could have had a goal or two in the game.

Great all-round performance for Rangers by Dessers

Despite not scoring, Dessers' all-round contribution was evident.

He registered a blocked shot and one attempt on target, making 20 touches throughout his time on the pitch.

Dessers was equally impressive in duels, winning three of his four aerial contests and succeeding in four of five ground duels.

The 29-year-old was substituted in the 65th minute for Hamza Igamane, having played a key role in helping Rangers maintain their slim advantage.

Dessers' performance in this match adds to his growing tally this season.

So far, he has scored three goals and provided one assist in the Scottish Premiership, with five goals and two assists in all competitions.

Rangers now sit third in the league table with 10 points from five games, trailing rivals Celtic by five points.
