Plateau United Football Club on Wednesday overcame Rivers United 3-2 in a rescheduled match-day 10 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League at the New Jos Stadium, Zaria Road.

Rivers United took the lead in the 27th minute when Andy Okpe converted from the spot after Plateau United defender, Moses Adikwu was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box.

Plateau was then awarded a penalty kick of their own following Endurance Ebedeberi's foul on Harrison Ebah inside the Rivers United box. Albert Hilary stepped up and converted from 12 yards to force a 1-1 stalemate at the break.

The ‘Peace Boys' then took the lead for the first time when Muhammad Umar benefited from Daniel Itodo's long throw to slot home from close range in the 54th minute.
Moses Adikwu was at it again in the 64th minute as he fouled Samuel Antwi in the box for a second penalty to Rivers which Endurance Ebedeberi converted to restore parity.

Adikwu then got his marching orders after a second booking for aiding the ball into the net with his hand off a Daniel Itodo long throw in an attempt to give the hosts the lead to culminate a calamitous day for the centre-back.

That action earned him a second booking and an early shower as Rivers United looked to use the man advantage to earn all the spoils.

The Plateau defence was able to contain River's onslaught and then went ahead through a beautiful goal worth to win any game.
