Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali could be forced to stay at Chippa United despite the transfer speculations surrounding his future.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the South African club since excelling at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2024) in the Ivory Coast, where he kept four clean sheets as his country finished as runners-up.
PSL sides Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have been mooted as potential destinations, while English Championship club Queens Park Rangers were also reported to have registered interest in Nwabali.

In recent months, the Nigeria number one has also been linked to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ettifaq. However, with just a month to the start of the 2024/25 PSL season, Nwabali could end up staying at Chippa United due to no concrete offers.
Nwabali braced for possible Chippa United stay
According to Chippa United assistant coach Thabo September, Nwabali has conducted himself very professionally and has been training well with the team despite the transfer speculations.
September, however, revealed that he was not aware of any offers on the table for the former Enyimba shot-stopper, adding that Nwabali was ready to stay if the situation remained the same.

“He’s being a professional and training well, and if that [transfer] doesn’t happen, he’s looking forward to playing in the PSL for Chippa United. But me as a coach I don’t know if there’s anything on the table,” September told FARPost.
“I’m not going to be like everyone else; that’s gonna be like there’s something here and there. On my side, I don’t know anything that’s on the table. But all I want is good things for him, I want the best for Stanley because he deserves it, he has done well.”
Nwabli, who is valued at around €1.5 million, enjoyed a standout campaign in the PSL last season, where he kept 11 clean sheets.
