Nwakaeme: One-cap Super Eagles forward shines as Trabzonspor cruise to victory

Nigeria forward Anthony Nwakaeme delivered another stellar performance on Monday night, registering his third goal contribution of the season as Trabzonspor dismantled Sivasspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Playing in front of their home fans, Trabzonspor displayed attacking dominance, netting four goals past a hapless Sivasspor.

Nwakaeme provided the assist for the fourth goal, capping off a comprehensive 4-0 win for the hosts.

The Black Sea Storm set the tone early, with relentless pressure that paid off when Arsenii Batahov opened the scoring just six minutes into the match.

Simon Banza then doubled the lead in the 13th minute, finishing a swift attacking move as Sivasspor struggled to cope with Trabzonspor’s high-intensity play.

Midfielder Ozan Tufan added a third goal in the 31st minute with a composed finish from a precise pass by Edin Višća.

Banza had the chance to increase the tally further from the penalty spot in the 49th minute but failed to convert.

However, Trabzonspor were not done.

In the 86th minute, Nwakaeme turned provider to set up John Lundstram for the fourth and final goal of the match, putting the icing on the cake for the blue-and-purple faithful.

This assist marked Nwakaeme’s second in the league this season from 11 appearances so far this season in the Süper Lig.

Nwakaeme’s performance vs Sivasspor by the numbers

Nwakaeme played a crucial role in the victory, lasting 88 minutes on the pitch before being substituted for Engin Poyraz Efe Yıldırım.

During his time on the field, the one-cap Super Eagles forward had 69 touches of the ball and maintained an impressive 90 percent pass accuracy, completing 47 of the 52 passes he attempted.

He also delivered four key passes and was successful in one of his three dribbling attempts.

The Nigerian forward was accurate with both long balls he attempted and won four of the nine ground duels he contested.

He also won his only aerial duel, further demonstrating his all-round contribution to the team’s dominant performance.
