Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri received high praise from his manager, Mikel Arteta, following another standout performance for the team.

The 17-year-old scored in Arsenal's dominant 3-0 victory over Preston North End in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, helping the Gunners secure a spot in the next round.

Arsenal took control early, dominating the first half. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 24th minute, and Nwaneri added a stunning, curling goal shortly after, showcasing his growing impact in the competition.

Substitute Kai Havertz completed the tally with a powerful header in the second half, setting up a clash with Crystal Palace in the next Carabao Cup round.

A visibly pleased Mikel Arteta didn’t hold back in commending the young talent, expressing admiration for Nwaneri’s ability and maturity on the pitch.

“The goal that Ethan scored was phenomenal,” Arteta said.

“He keeps doing it in training, he’s got the ability, his personality, to make decisions in the final third, so I’m really happy.”

In an all-round impressive display, Nwaneri completed two of three dribble attempts and even created a key chance, highlighting his influence on the match.

This goal against Preston North End marked his third in the Carabao Cup across two games, adding to his growing experience from four Premier League appearances.
