Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi has completed a move to Greek giants Olympiakos from Portuguese side Boavista in a deal reportedly worth €2.5 million.
The 25-year-old, who had attracted interest from Turkish and Belgian clubs, opted for Olympiakos, a club currently competing in the Europa League—a factor believed to have influenced his decision.

Onyemaechi has been a standout performer for Boavista this season, excelling in a versatile role as a wing back and advanced midfielder.
He has already registered three goals and one assist this campaign, showcasing his attacking capabilities alongside his defensive strength.
The Nigerian defender joined Boavista during the 2022/23 season, initially on loan from Feirense before making the move permanent.
Over two seasons, Onyemaechi made 77 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
Known for his consistency and adaptability, he quickly became a key player for the black-and-whites.
Europa League delight for Onyemaechi
Boavista is expected to retain a percentage of Onyemaechi’s future transfer value, signalling their belief in his potential to attract even bigger moves.
His move to Olympiakos will delight the defender, as it offers him the opportunity to compete at a higher level and continue his development on the European stage.
The defender’s arrival at the club is expected to bolster the Greek side’s squad as they push for domestic and European success this season.
Onyemaechi has earned 11 caps for Nigeria and was part of the Super Eagles squad for the most recent Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.
