Osimhen claims 9-figure transfer valuation, boasts: ‘There are few players like me’

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has asserted that he deserves a valuation exceeding €100 million, citing his unique skills and impressive achievements in football.

In his four years in Italy, he has evolved into one of the finest forwards in the world, leading the Partenopei to the Serie A title in the 2022/23 season after scoring 31 goals that campaign, and becoming the first African player to win the Capocannoniere award.

While the 25-year-old struggled a bit last season and was blighted by injuries, he still managed an impressive return of 17 goals and four assists in 32 matches.

Prior to his move to Galatasaray on a season-long loan, Osimhen had a hefty release clause of €130 million, a figure deemed outrageous by Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), both of whom were interested in signing him.

As discussions about his worth continue, Osimhen remains firm in his belief that his abilities justify a high price tag.

Osimhen stands firm: ‘Opinions vary, but I know my value'

Osimhen, in quotes relayed by Tutto Sport made a bold assertion regarding his market value, confidently stating, “I am worth more than €100 million. There are few players like me in the world who have achieved the same results and success as me.

“Everything is linked to my characteristics, the things I do on the pitch and my quality. I think I deserve a high valuation.”

Acknowledging the differing opinions on his worth, he added, “I am aware of the contribution I can give to a team. Do people think differently? Some say €15 million, others say €100-120-150. Everyone has different opinions.”

Although Osimhen's loan agreement with the Turkish club is set for a season, it includes a break clause that enables him to depart in January if any of his preferred European clubs show interest and are prepared to meet his buyout clause of €75 million (£63.2 million).
