Victor Osimhen was on the scoresheet for Galatasaray in their 3-3 Europa League draw against Dynamo Kyiv at Rams Park. However, the Super Eagles striker endured a frustrating evening as his side squandered a two-goal lead, leaving their qualification hopes hanging by a thread.

Galatasaray struck early through Davinson Sanchez in the sixth minute, with Abdulkerim Bardakci doubling their advantage 15 minutes later.

The Turkish champions appeared to be cruising, but Dynamo Kyiv pulled one back before halftime to keep themselves in the contest.

Osimhen extended Galatasaray's lead eight minutes into the second half, converting a penalty to make it 3-1. Despite the goal, it was far from a perfect display by the Nigerian forward, who was wasteful in front of goal.

Dynamo Kyiv capitalized on Galatasaray’s defensive lapses in the final 25 minutes, with Andriy Yarmolenko scoring twice to ensure a share of the spoils.

Osimhen’s stats tell the story

The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes and registered an impressive eight attempts on goal.

However, Osimhen missed three clear-cut chances, with only five of his shots hitting the target. His expected goals (xG) stood at 2.00, underlining his wastefulness on the night.

Offensively, the Lagos-born forward struggled to create for his teammates, delivering zero key passes and failing to register an assist. He completed just eight of his 13 attempted passes, a 62% accuracy rate.

With his aerial presence, he won seven of nine aerial duels, caught offside four times, and lost possession eight times.

Defensively, Osimhen contributed with one clearance and two interceptions. However, his overall performance highlighted areas for improvement, as Galatasaray remain in fifth place in the Europa League standings, pending other results.
