Osimhen: Unstoppable Super Eagles forward strikes again in Galatasaray Süper Lig win

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray secured a 2-0 away win over Samsunspor in the Turkish Super League on Friday.

The Nigerian forward scored early in the second half to seal the win for the league leaders, who are now six points clear of closest challengers Fenerbahçe, who play on Sunday.

Galatasaray started strongly and took the lead in the 14th minute through Yunus Akgün. The winger finished calmly to give the visitors the advantage.

The first half ended with just the one goal, but Galatasaray maintained control after the break.

Just two minutes into the second half, Osimhen doubled the lead. He latched onto a well-timed through pass from Akgün and slotted past the goalkeeper.

The visitors created more chances but couldn’t add to their tally. Still, they were comfortable and dominant throughout, claiming all three points with a solid performance.

The 26-year-old started the game and played for 74 minutes before he was replaced by Spanish striker Álvaro Morata, shortly after scoring Galatasaray’s second goal of the match.

He had one shot on target from 24 touches, made one key pass, and also had a shot blocked.

The forward completed 7 out of the 10 passes he attempted, finishing with a 70% pass success rate.

In duels, Osimhen contested three aerial balls but lost all. On the ground, he won three out of seven duels.

With his goal against Samsunspor, Osimhen now has 21 goals in 24 league games and remains the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig.
