Super Falcons' midfielder Toni Payne delivered a standout performance for Everton Women as they secured an emphatic 4-1 victory over Leicester City Women in the Women’s Super League.

The Nigerian international, deployed as a lone striker, provided two crucial assists to help her team claim all three points.

Everton started brightly, taking the lead in the fifth minute through Kelly Gago.

However, their advantage lasted just ten minutes before Shannon O’Brien equalised for Leicester, ensuring both sides went into the break level.

The second half saw Payne come alive, setting up Katja Snoeijs four minutes after the restart to restore Everton’s lead.

Hanoka Hayashi then extended the advantage in the 57th minute before Gago grabbed her second of the match, finishing off another brilliant assist from Payne to seal the 4-1 victory.

The win lifts Everton to eighth on the table with 13 points from 13 games.

The 29-year-old midfielder played 82 minutes, registering two assists, before being substituted for Louna Ribadeira.

She had 29 touches, created two big chances, and completed 15 of her 22 passes (68% accuracy).

Although Payne missed one big opportunity, she was effective in duels, winning one of her two ground battles and successfully completing her only dribble attempt.

While she did not contest any aerial duels, her creative influence proved decisive in Everton’s dominant win.
