Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah will now be facing a very lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a fracture while playing for Orlando Pirates in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Orlando Pirates, one of the PSL’s biggest clubs, confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday morning.
The injury occurred last month during a 3-0 victory over Polokwane City, where Ndah was forced off in the 84th minute after the game had already been secured.

Since then, the Nigerian defender has missed some important fixtures, including the Buccaneers' MTN8 Cup victory over Stellenbosch FC.
He was also unable to join the Super Eagles for their crucial AFCON 2025 qualifier against Libya.
Olisa Ndah out until 2025
However, as Orlando Pirates are preparing to trade tackles with newly promoted Magesi FC in Carling Black Label Cup opener, the club confirmed that Ndah will not be on the pitch anytime soon.
“Unfortunately, the Buccaneers will be without key defender Olisa Ndah, who faces an extended period on the sidelines.”
“The Nigerian international, who missed out on playing the MTN8 final after suffering an injury in the league match against Polokwane City, is expected to be out on the sidelines for a lengthy spell.
“The Bucs medical department has confirmed that the 26-year-old has suffered a tibia fracture. Due to the location and nature of the injury, the decision on surgery is not straightforward, but based on this type of injury, Ndah has been ruled out for the rest of the year.”
