Nigeria striker Umar Sadiq finds himself in a transfer impasse with La Liga side Real Sociedad.

Sadiq’s prolific form at Almería, where he scored 43 goals and provided 19 assists in two seasons, made him a coveted asset. The lanky forward’s performance notably declined after suffering a major injury in his debut season at Anoeta.
While he has since recovered, the striker has struggled to rediscover the form that initially caught Real Sociedad’s eye.

In the last campaign, Umar Sadiq featured in 36 matches across all competitions, including 26 in La Liga, 4 in the Champions League, and 6 in the Copa del Rey.
Despite significant playing time, he registered just three goals and one assist—falling short of the high expectations set for him, prompting both parties to consider a separation.
According to Spanish news outlet, AS, the Basque club are seeking to recoup their initial investment, demanding a transfer fee of €15 million plus a percentage of any future sale.
This valuation has deterred potential suitors, with many clubs preferring a loan deal for the Nigeria international.
Genoa and Sevilla have emerged as leading contenders for Sadiq's signature. Both clubs are exploring the possibility of acquiring the forward, but Real Sociedad's insistence on a permanent deal remains a stumbling block.
Valencia, who were initially interested, have since withdrawn from the race following the signing of Rafa Mir.
