As Nigeria's Super Eagles prepare for their friendly games against Ghana and Mali later this month, a decision has been made about the team's head coach for those matches.
After the expiration of José Peseiro's contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), there has been a lot of speculation about his replacement.
George Finidi confirmed as Super Eagles' interim coach
Afrik-Foot had previously reported that George Finidi will lead the team on an interim basis for their March friendlies, and this was confirmed in a tweet by the Super Eagles' official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday March 19.
It's worth mentioning that Finidi is still Enyimba's head coach, but he will hold the fort while the search for the next Super Eagles coach continues.
Super Eagles camp update
The NFF had announced a 26-man squad for their March friendlies, and four of those players have officially been ruled out with injuries.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Luton Town's Gabriel Osho, Nottingham Forest's Taiwo Awoniyi and Empoli's Tyronne Ebuehi will not be available for selection, with the latter being sidelined for the rest of the season.

At the time of writing, 11 players have joined the Super Eagles camp, with a few more expected over the next 24 hours.
Here's a full list of players currently in camp:
