Samuel Chukwueze could be the new Antony as astonishing LaLiga return beckons

Winger Samuel Chukwueze is the subject of interest from Real Betis.

The LaLiga outfit, who reached the final of the Europa Conference League, have, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, looked into signing the Nigeria international whose time at AC Milan has been disappointing.

Chukwueze, who departed Villarreal in the summer of 2023, recently described the 2024/25 campaign as the worst of his career. He has been identified as a candidate for sale as the Rossoneri restructure the squad for returning manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Is Samuel Chukwueze a good transfer fit for Real Betis?

While it is unclear whether Betis’ interest will materialise in the form of a permanent transfer or a loan, the 26-year-old would ostensibly be replacing Brazil international Antony.

The winger spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at the Benito Villamarin, and quickly established himself as a fan favourite, helping los verdiblancos to a European final and reversing the negative trajectory of his career. In total, he scored five goals in 17 appearances, and appeared reborn under Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini.

It remains to be seen if Betis will pursue their interest in Chukwueze, but the similarities are impossible to miss.
