The Super Eagles B team, also known as the CHAN team, will soon discover their opponents in the qualifiers for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw for the CAF African Nations Championship 2025 qualifiers will take place on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, at 14:00 Cairo time (11:00 GMT).

The tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 1–28, February 2025.
Before the finals, two rounds of home-and-away qualifiers will determine the teams that will compete in the tournament.
The first round of qualifiers will be played between 25–27 October and 1–3 November 2024, while the second round will follow from 20-22 December and 27-29 December 2024.
Eguavoen to lead Super Eagles CHAN team
The Super Eagles B team will be led by head coach Austin Eguavoen, with assistance from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) coaches Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars and Fidelis Ilechukwu of reigning champions Rangers.
Their expertise in the league will be crucial in selecting the best squad when the call-up is made later this month.

The 2024 edition also serves as a prelude to Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania's preparation for hosting the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027.
Nigeria’s best CHAN performance remains their 2018 runner-up finish, where they lost 4-0 to Morocco in the final.
As the qualifiers approach, hopes are high for a strong showing from the Super Eagles B team as they aim to surpass their previous achievements.
